So many of you know I’m not a fan of Rasmus Sandin and also, like many, feel we need to offload some salary.

So let’s send Kerfoot and Sandin to Buffalo for Zemgus Girgenson, Robert Hagg and 2nd round draft pick in 2022.

ZG plays both center and left so provides some positional flexibility. He’s a big man with speed, just hitting his prime, plays PK and will provide as much or more offence than Kerfoot.

Not a big savings, about $600k and a decent draft pick.

Does this have sufficient appeal? I know some of you see Sandin as a #4 defender but I just don't see it. yet!

I don't think Buffalo wants Kerfoot. That's the major problem here.

I think it depends what they thing of sandin really, they can unload kerfoot if they don’t like him to recoup assets.

I like this trade and hope kerfoot plays with skinner and gets 40-50 points away from team. Like Barrie he can and he will put up solid production away from Toronto.

I like Girgensons. Was a target of mine with a few trades on here in the off season. Value seems about right. It would depend on if the Sabres see Kerfoot and Sandin as an overall upgrade for the future. Hagg likely is what he is by now, a good sized, fairly physical 3rd pair guy 5-7. Girgensons is excellent defensively and I think he can play up and down the lineup on the right team.
I think Buffalo would do it because they seem to be trying to turn over the whole team basically (except the young guys of course) .
