Dubas. Paid too much for Taveras Matthews Marner he gave Nylander the right contract. Kerfoot adds something defensively but having Kadri and Hyman by getting the top 3 to take less was doable. Dubas wasn’t willing to fight them and he caved in which hurt his ability to keep other talent. Hyman should have been kept subtract the money for Richie and Mrazek and Hyman never leaves.

The haul on any Matthews trade would be like 6 pieces, it would be a roster player, top prospect and a minimum of 2 if not 3 1st round picks.

Also the Leafs will NOT trade Matthews, he can go down as the best Maple Leaf player ever, was a Hart runner up last year and led the league in goals.

Hard pass on trading him.
