Detroit picks up a tandem of Ned and Mrazek for the next couple of seasons. He also makes $1.6M in real money less than Greiss this season. Gives Detroit the proper time to develop Cossa. All depends on if the Wings want ot bring back a guy they basically gave away in the past and if Mrazek would go back.

Leafs pick up a vet backup that is UFA at end of season and a 4th in the draft. Opens up the cap space needed to re-sign Campbell. Woll is looking like he could be a capable back-up. He is big enough, pretty quiet in the crease and sometimes the more structured NHL suits some goalies better than the more erratic AHL.

I don't think Yzerman does this. He's way too smart to being Mrazek back in. He would fleece Dubas all day long.

Greiss is the better goalie tho so doesn’t make much sense.

Not sure I agree Greiss is better at this point, but he does tend to be healthier. He will be 36 soon, so not sure what commitment they want to make moving forward. That said, as I mentioned, Detroit may not have nay interest in bringing Mrazek back.

Looking at the numbers greiss has been the more consistent one and like you said he’s been a lot healthier and not so injury prone I agree with trading mrazek if you can rely on Woll in the playoffs but I think you need to see Woll up against some stronger teams.

In order for the Leafs to move Mrazek at all, he'll need to come back healthy and play a few decent games first.

If he can do that, then yes this deal makes sense.

@T-buds he has thus far, remained healthy for 5 periods+12 games over a 2 year span. I'm not holding my breath.
