Any trades will have to be even dollars in and out. Or total of cap dollars in multiple trades to that effect.

To BUF: D - T. Dermott + G - P. Mrazek + 2023 2nd

To TOR: D - M. Pysyk + G - A. Dell + 2023 4th

Leafs improve a pick for the Sabres in this deal that removes cap.

CAP IN: $1.65M
CAP OUT: $5.30M

then

To NJD: F - N. Robertson + D - J. Holl + 2022 1st

To TOR: D - D. Severson + F - N. Foote

Foote has not worked out and is currently taxi squad. Robertson has a higher upside at this point.

CAP IN: $4.2M
CAP OUT: $2.0M

Total CAP IN: $5.85
Total CAP OUT:$7.30M

In Offseason, both Engvall and Mikheyev walk opening up $2.9M. Add the $1.45M in savings here for $4.35. This goes to Campbell

Sign G - J. Campbell to a 6 x 6M deal (4.35 + 1.65)

To save on cap, I would even entertain an 8 year deal at $38M which would drop the cap hit to $4.75M (paying Campbell $1M a year in years he is 37 and 38)

Will also need to re-sign Sandin, Liljegren, Kase and Spezza

New line up

Bunting Matthews Marner
Kerfoot Tavares Nylander
Ritchie Kampf Kase
Foote Spezza Simmonds

Rielly Brodie
Muzzin Severson
Sandin Liljegren
Pysyk

Campbell
Dell

I like it a lot.

@T-buds. I think your first one is possible, may even be an overpay. I think Buffalo is a possible landing place for Mrazek, but I had him for Anderson and Hagg.
I think NJ passes on the second one. It makes them no better now or the next year. IMO-Severson should at least get that himself neverminded adding in Foote.

I added Foote, as although he was drafted in the 1st he has not managed to crack a starting line up and is currently relegated to the taxi squad. Taking out Foote does not matter much to me, as I have him pegged on the 4th line anyways.

I don't think dubas would get rid of Robertson.
