Leafs gain about $1.55M in cap space this season and makes room to resign Campbell next year.

Koskinen seems to have fallen out of favour in Edmonton. Mrazek has opportunity to be #1 goalie.

Even beyond that, why would any team take a struggling goalie, signed for 2 more years and send us an equally struggling goalie (UFA) plus retain 50,%?


Sometimes the deals people think other teams take truly amaze me.

Ken Holland has been known to make plenty of questionable trades and signings. Nothing is impossible.
And I believe Edmonton still has $1.74M available in cap space which can accommodate the $1.55M difference in this deal.
