I think Buffalo do this. Leafs are taking chance Thompson is the player he was last year. Leafs get 2 players and approx 4 million in cap space. Leafs must get much deeper

Leafs need grit with skill a Simons and Clifford type that can score goals

Mikheyev can be replaced with a player that likes to get a bloody nose

Leafs should turn over 5 players or 20-% of their roster

Dubas and Keefe are gone, Keefe out coached by Cooper. Leafs were ill prepared for game 4 and Dubas let top level talent go to competitor. Dubas chose not to significantly improve his team, while the level of talent available was excellent. Dubas the guy that wouldn't sign Corey Perry, bite him in the ass last year ( knocks out Tavares ) and this year. Perry would have been a better addition than Thornton, Simmonds or even a Spezza whom I like. Dubas and Keefe must go, and possible Shannahan is fired.

Florida added Giroux and Chiarot

NYR added Copp, Braun, Vatrano and Motte

Carolina added Domi

Colorado added Lehkonen and Mansin

Edmonton added Kane

Miller would ve looked good in a Leafs uniform.

The types of players you're asking for, are significantly harder to find. Nobody is handing over a Bunting/ Hyman for nothing and even less will give you a Tkatchuk.

Nylander, Mikheyev, Engvall, Gio, Kase, Kerfoot and Mrazek would be my bets to be replaced. Who knows what with though.

Kerfoot and a 1st rd pick in 2022 and 2023 to Vancouver for Miller. With Vancouver eating half of Miller contract.

Miller in 80 games had 99 point, in comparison Giroux had 65 pounts in 75 games. Giroux had 7 pts in 6 playoff games and played a pivitol role in Florida advancing. The type of addition that would have been very welcome in Toronto, although last years Foligno acquisition was a huge fail. This years trade deadline was a massive mistake by Dubas, seldom is the level of talent available as good as it was this year just ask Florida. It will only get worse with Dubas and Keefe at the helm, hopefully Shannahan or MLSE wakes up and gets the ship on course.
