Leafs get a heart and soul guy with some grit who plays middle six. He also PK's so Leafs can let Mikheyev walk if he wants too much money.
And as I said above, Minnesota clears some cap space to help resign Fiala.

This fits under the cap, how? When Rielly kicks in, Sandin and Lili are signed, you're looking at a really tight squeeze. I don't think it's possible.

@LL no doubt it will be tough to squeeze but this proposal would be after Dubus clears out some contracts.
Obvious moves in my mind are Mrazek, Kerfoot and Muzzin (which obviously will be the hardest since he has full NTC) . But if Dubas can remove Kerfoot and Muzzin for draft picks and/ or prospects then we should be good. Obviously we will need to lose a higher draft pick getting rid of Mrazek but I'm sure it can be done.

I'm hoping Dubas targets some bigger and more gritty top 9 forwards and I think Marxus Foligno and going after UFA Nick Paul would be a good start. Anyways banking on lots of moves to happen.

Plus we do have Robertson and potentially Holmberg, Steeves, Anderson who could make the jump up and save some more cap dollars. But I definitely want Dubas to target some bigger tougher players.

Trading Muzzin is a real concern for me. Sandin doesn't do anything well that Muzzin does. Sandin is not moving people from net front, hitting, playing sound defence, it's basically just Bush and Muzzin doing certain things.

I understand what you're saying but Muzzin's contract is pretty big and he seems to be on a decline even though he played well against Tampa.
We can move Boosh to play with Sandin instead if Holl.
We can slot Robertson's $800K into L2 and have $2.973M remaining. Then we either don't sign Boosh or trade Holl so we have closer to $5M left to target a bigger nasty tough RD from UFA market, maybe Manson?
Dubas still would have lots of options.

Manson doesn't want to play in Canada. You would need to massively overpay him to come here.
Muzzin's contract might be an issue soon, but that can be said for Brodie and JT as well.
If Muzzin leaves, we just need someone new coming in.

Agreed we need someone new coming in if Muzzin is moved.
Anyways there are quite a few UFA's to choose from, maybe deHann who plays both sides, Gudbrandson who is big and nasty just to name a couple.
I know there are lots of Nylander trade props out there, but personally I would rather target a Muzzin trade and keep Nylander.
