Firstly, I would like to resign Sandin. But if just isn't possible, then we can use him to add to some areas of need.
To Nashville: Rasmus Sandin
Justin Holl
Joseph Woll
To Toronto: Jérémy Lauzon
Connor Ingram
2.76 Million out, 2.73 Million in
To break it down, Woll has 3 years left (RFA) Holl has 1 (UFA). Ingram has 1 (RFA) Lauzon has 4 (UFA). With 2 NHL goalies and Askarov in their system, Nashville can afford to lose Ingram, who filled in in the playoffs last year. We could definitely use another solid goalie with our current carousel. They receive Woll who has term and cheap, to play in the minors. Between Holl and Sandin, they can replace Lauzon. The Leafs get a bigger more physical defenceman, who plays both sides and has term.

Ingram has been someone I have wanted the Leafs to go after for awhile. He would have been a good backup for Jack. Now, I don't see the point as they signed Samsonov and traded for Murray. If he gets called up, he has to clear waivers to go back down and someone will likely grab him. I think the Leafs are overpaying, not needing to add.

That's a Good point. Murray's health and inconsistency really worries me. Samsonov hasn't really proven himself either, always been his potential.

L67. I understand why you would want some insurance and agree that it would be nice to have. If Murray falters, no on is taking him on waivers. The issue will be if he looks good in the minors, they will call him back up and we likely lose who gets sent back down. Dubas believes in Murray and I think we are stuck with him no matter what.

I completely agree. Samsonov is probably the only one that could be moved. Should he falter and Ingram thrives. I was mostly interested in the Defense upgrade in Lauzon. Currently our right side worries me.
