To Calgary: Alexander Kerfoot

Both are 28 years old UFA's. Kerfoot make 250k more. Who adds in this deal?

Weegar would be a huge boost for our defense. In the tops for shots blocked and plus minus. Then we can finally get rid of Holl, or let him be the 7th guy.

Weegar is a high end second pair, low end 1st pair D. Kerfoot is a 3LW. I don't see how this works.

Kerfoot played 2nd line winger for us last year, with the ability to play center (3rd line) . Probably not a one for one trade, I agree. But maybe kerfoot Sandin and a 3rd (from Ottawa) maybe gets it done? Maybe try and get Ružička from them in the deal, a fellow RFA. Would obviously need to add aswell.

Calgary is already looking at trading a defenseman as they have too many.

We should target Weegar or Tanev. Solid defensive RHD, our biggest area of need (besides a 2nd line LW) . I would give Robertson every chance to earn that spot, if we don't make a trade to fill that spot.
