I dunno that i would call Sandin and Robertson scoring threats. Robertson doesn't even crack our lineup.

@loxley he should over Engvall and Kerfoot.

18 Nov 2022 20:43:55
@LL. Well. he already has. Kerfoot only has one goal. Robertson has what.2.i'd have to check. also not a fan of Engvall's cap hit. as for Robertson i guess i am still on the fence as to what he will become in the NHL. Wish the Leafs would play him more. let's find out if he is the top prospect people think he is or an average player who might not last long term. But at this point. we should not be calling him a scoring threat. nobody knows what he can do at the NHL level on a large sample.

I’m all over the Pred deal but don’t think you’d get Matier, though I’d love him! Since Robertson is often a healthy scratch I think we would get 2 current NHL players with luck.

I also love the St. Louis trade. Mikkola has always stood out in games against the Leafs.

I can’t say I like the Engval deal. Murray, at 24yo, is not and maybe never will be ready. You beefed up the Leafs with the first 2 trades so I’d set my sights on getting a player with speed and size who can play in top 6 and not need to be on PP to score. Package Engval with Niemela and go after someone like Mantha (didn’t look at cap tho’) or Jesse Puljijarvi or Lawson Crouse.

@Loxley that's all my point was.

Engvall and Kerfoot see the ice (Kerfoot top 6 mins) and Robertson is a healthy scratch.

@LL I know what your point was. just don't agree with saying they are "scoring threats". who knows what they are until we see more of them. which does not seem likely as Keefe won't even play Robertson.

@Loxley. I wasn't trying to say Sandin is a scoring threat, I was referring to Nashville needing more scoring and Robertson should help them. Sandin is a better puck mover than Lauzon when Sandin is playing well. I can't see how Robertson isn't a scoring threat. He just turned 21 and had 16 goals in 28 games as a 20 year old in the A. 55 his last year of junior. Point is, Nash gets two young prospects that both have shown they can play in the NHL and one may become a 20+ goal scorer.

Rsears. The Engvall deal is more about cap space and I actually like Murray as a 4th liner. He is also waiver exempt and pending RFA whereas Engvall is a pending UFA and I personally am done with giving him anymore time to play more consistently.

@LL. Scoring in the A does not equate to being a scoring threat in the NHL. i am not trying to compare what Sandin and Roberton are against what we'd be getting back. my point is neither have proven themselves "SCORING THREATS" in the NHL

As for Engvall i really was not saying anything on him. but i'd trade him away for anything at this point just to save that cap space. not a fan of his.

@Loxley. Matthews hadn't even played an NHL game and was considered a scoring threat. Same with Laine etc or anyone else that had proven they could score at a high rate prior. I know it's semantics, but a scoring threat is just that, a threat. I am not saying it will definitely translate at the NHL level, but lets not forget that Robertson also scored in pre-season at the NHL level. Not the same competition as regular season I know, but he is considered a threat to score everytime he plays, is he not.
