The reason Bennet is available is they would need to clear up cap space. So a 3rd team would have to be involved to take kerfoot.

As for shenn, Vancouver laugh, you're trading a younger, more expensive and less useful peice for the most cost effective depth defense available in the league. Good luck.

If FL could extend Kerfoot at $2.5m I think they make the trade but would try for a lower round pick. I’d give them a 3rd.

Bennett has always physical and now is contributing on offence and he’s still young!

I suppose on the Schenn deal, only because he’s cheaper and far more physical but I’m really not in a hurry to trade the under-valued Holl.

Extend Kerfoot or not there is no way they trade Bennett for Kerfoot and a 5th. Bennett is controlled for the next couple years.

Florida needs to clear cap space to bring Duclair back off injury reserve.
They are not taking back Kerfoot.
Also, a 5th round pick has almost no value.

Florida sends Bennett to Arizona.
Leafs send Robertson to Florida.
Leafs send Kerfoot $ (3.5) to Arizona along with a 3rd round pick for Bennett.
Arizona takes back the ($900,000) difference between Kerfoot and Bennett’s cap hits.
Bennett has two more years on his contract so a cost to Arizona tof ($1.8) million.
Kerfoot’s cap hit is ($3.5) but all but ($750,000) of his salary was paid prior to the start of this season.
Half the season is gone so the cost to Arizona for Kerfoot is ($375,000).
Total cost to Arizona ($2.175) million, in exchange for a 3rd round pick.
Arizona sends Bennett to the Leafs.
Cost to Leafs: Kerfoot, Robertson and a 2023 - 3rd round pick.

What does Arizona send to FL to acquire Bennett?
What does Toronto get from FL for Robertson?
Arizona can’t send something to Toronto they don’t have.
Why not just send Robertson to FL for Bennet?
Then send Kerfoot to Arizona for Bjugstad?
