Dubas will go down with the ship with the core 4, along with Reilly & Brodie. Ok to do that but guaging your competition suggests a strong move, to upgrade the teams weakest links secondary scoring & some offense from the back end. A little bit of size & nasty also helpful. A talented but defensively responsible 3rd line, would be a big big plus.

With a 1st rd exit new management should agressively launch a rebuild, in the following trade scenario Leafs pay a boatload to bring over a player under contract in the KHL. Hypothetically Arizona acquires the 2nd overall pick in 2023 draft.

Would want to have Michkov in lineup fo 2024 / 2025 season, good chance he is rookie of the year. Would require paying his KHL club large coin, which the Leafs have.
