Win: ehlers plus something else like a mid draft pick

I think no matter how this post season turns out the leafs should look to move on from Willy sell high I don't think you can bring back the core intact this one is risky just cause ehlers is kinda injury prone but he plays with 10x the heart Willy does and can play in all situations Winnipeg will be looking at big offseason changes

This seems like a sideways move to me. I don't see it as improving anything.

If Nylander is moved, I'd like a D of some kind.

Next season you have:

Rielly, Brodie, McCabe, Gio and Lilly.

I don't like that ad a Stanley cup contending D corps. As bad as Hollsy is at times, he kills penalties well and is still a top 6 player.

If trading Nylander, I would like a young cost controlled prospect/ 1st year NHLer type and a probable + (would depend on prospect) . Leafs could use an eventual replacement for Nylander and the cap space.

I agree with LL. i am again frustrated with Willy's lack of production which was why i pushed for Meier so much (dunno how he's been doing in playoffs) but if i am gonna trade Willy it has to be for either a top D or if you want another forward back someone that plays tougher like Dubois or someone else if not from the Jets.

That’s interesting that you would move nylander for a dman So what about the leafs moving nylander and getting be prospects and picks and going after a free agent blueliner there’s seems like there’s gonna be a few quality one out there this offseason.

I'm good with that as well Goat, it just depends on the price for the UFA. It's a lot easier to find a guy with a good cap hit in trade, than it is in UFA.

I agree with RLF here as well. If Nylander was traded for a good prospect and a pick, I'd be happy as well. Use the money elsewhere at that point.

@Loxley Timo has zero points if I remember correctly. Big difference though, Willy a d Kerfoot have more points than Timo, but Timo plays hard and responsible in his own end. I cried when Willy or Kerfoot are tasked with taking the outside man (either side) in the D zone. Willy just takes off and Kerfoot looks overwhelmed.

@LL thanks for the update. i really haven't followed Timo since he went to the Devils. i only bring him up cause i think his style of play is better suited for playoffs than Nylander. very different players. Willy has been frustrating this series.

Leafs needs a bonafide stud on d Rielly paid like one but that’s it. He’s not one.
Nylander should be dangled for one. Leafs can’t nor should look to resign him. 10m was rumoured to be his starting ask price. Not even close to be worth it. He’s a one dimensional player with no defensive ability no hustle and no idea on how to stop and start.
The new GM can really start his tenure by getting rid of him and give the new coach something to work with on the back end.
