Leaf's don't really have forwards that they can trade just the slop that Treliving signed in free agency

Like the target but exchange a prospect for 1st in 2024 and I would support.

Say Ty Voit or William Villeneuve if they want a D replacement.

Calgary would be wise to accept that they can then flip Bertuzzi deadline

Leaf's would have Andersson two more years after this at $4.5 million perfect on second pairing for leafs and leafs gain 500k in cap space.

Andersson is signed for multiple years. I doubt this is enough from the Leafs, not do I think Bertuzzi waives his NMC to go to Calgary.

As RLF already said, the only way Bertuzzi waives his NMC is to go somewhere with cup aspirations, or somewhere that signs him longterm for big money.

Bertuzzi would get a playoff team Calgary would move him I’m sure this arrangement would suit him.

Bertuzzi next contract could be destroyed if he can’t mesh in Toronto

So he goes Calgary a few months builds himself up then gets shipped to a contender.

Bertuzzi and a 2024 late 1st round pick does not come even close to getting Rasmus Andersson who is a top pairing, right hand defenseman.
I don’t think Conroy is anywhere near that foolish.
Start thinking Tanev and/ or Zadorov and Conroy will pick up the phone.

@Bob Leafs aren't even close to Oilers/ Flames territory, but yes, they aren't much better.
