Tor: klingberg, lily, samsonov, 24 1st
Edm: Hyman 25% retained, skinner, Desharnais.
We take the worse goalie this season but a tandem of woll and skinner could be the pair of the future in Toronto. Desharnais is a solid 6th D big and sticks up for his teammates, and we know hymans chemistry with Matthews

Edm would say no to that so fast. It has to make sense for both teams. Retained Hyman, Skinner is pretty equal to Sammy, can’t say either is better at this point and taking Klingberg for us (favour)? I feel like you just threw our cap dumps at them for some good assets.

Hyman's game is on the downturn. Skinner is in a sophomore slump. I am ok with Klingberg and Lily being traded but not to the Oilers as they really don't have any players of value to trade (McDavid and Drasitil would cost a kings ransom and then some) . Desharnais is a 3rd pairing defenceman at best.

Looks like I got opposing views from people, so the deal is probably fairly fair. Klingberg is the only cap dump. Samsonov the last few games has been lights out compared to skinner, they get a 1st and lily. I think I was pretty fair In this proposal.
@leafhuru - see the following quote from my post
"Desharnais is a solid 6th D big and sticks up for his teammates"

Randy, I did see your post and as I said "Desharnais is a 3rd pairing defenceman at best". Which is to say I would only insert him if there are no better options, he really isn't an everyday player. Yes he is tough and sticks up for his teammates but he is slow and gets caught out of position quite a bit not to mention he is like Holl in the way he screens his own goalie at times. Hyman would be the only player that is of value in this trade and his play has been on the decline this year. Since he is on the wrong side of 30 I wouldn't even entertain this trade if I was a GM.

I think the deal is fair, minus the retention.
For a contending team that 25% for so long is probably unpalatable.
Good prop all around though. Maybe send back Jarnkrok and take out the retention. Or possibly Kampf.

So the retention is very similar to the leafs retention on Kessel. Time and amount.

Overall values look good, but as LL said, Oilers aren't retaining. The difference with Kessel was that he was massively overpaid and Leafs were trying to dump him.
Hyman has 15 points in 16 games and still playing 20+ mins a night most of the time. 11 of his 15 points are even strength. Why do people think he is declining?
