Roster Breakdown for 25/ 26 season:
Salary cap this year $88M going up to 92.5M with potential to hit $97M. Assuming the Cap is 92.5M next season we would have 26.3M in cap space.

Wage increases that start next year:
McCabe: 2M >>4.51M
Woll: 767K >> 3.67M
This is included in the 26.3M left for next year.

RFA’s and potential signing numbers:

Dewar: 1.5M X 1-2 years
Knies: 5M X 2 year (bridge deal)
Robertson: 1.5M X 1-2 years
Holmberg: 1.5M X 1-2 years
Timmins: 2.5M X 2 years
= 12M

UFA signings:
Marner: 12.5M X 8
Tavares: 6M X 3
Lorentz: 1.35M X 2
=19,850,000M
12M RFA’s + 19,850,000M (UFA’s)
31,850,000M
-26,300,000M (cap space)
= $5,550,000 over the cap next year.

So what’s got to give next year to make this cap work and would be nice to get a Sam Bennett in the off season but doesn’t look like that’s gonna fit in our cap space. Is the answer to let Marner or JT walk? What’s your thoughts?

First off the Leafs Management will not be resigning Robertson, Holmberg, Dewar or Timmons.
All will be traded at or before the trade deadline.

Second, Marner will not be resigned.
He will be replaced with Cowan and Brock Beoser.

Tavares will be offered $4 million over 2yrs or $3.5 over 3yrs only.

Knies will get $4.75 x 4yrs.

Leafs will bring up Minton and Grebenkin full time next year.

Domi will be asked to waive his no-trade and Reaves will be gone as well as Kampf.

That is what is going to probably happen and there will be lots of cap space available, not like your prediction states.

Lol ParkGardens you are so far off from reality it’s just funny. JT, one of the best C in the league is gonna sign for 3.5-4M? Haha and I’m silly? 6M is bud hometown discount. 3.5-4 is just highway robbery. Don’t want Boeser at all. If you’re not signing Dewar, Holmberg, Timmins or Robertson, who are you replacing them with? Timmins has been one of our best D and Holmberg is in his way to being a legit shut down 3rd line winger/ C. You’re not paying attention Park Gardens.

Holmberg and Dewar can stay at those salaries. I’d like to think that Niemela will finally come up and replace Timmons for less money. Domi, Kamph, Reaves, Robertson, Jarnkrok can all go. Patches will be gone.

Clearly, I am paying attention just not in the fantasy world you are in.

Tavares will sign for what I said as he has made his money and just wants a cup before retiring.

There are many replacement players out there for the bottom six if Toronto stops over paying this dam core four robbers.

I would image Leafs will do their utmost to move/ wave/ buyout Kampf $2.45), Jarnkrok ($2.1) and Reaves ($1.35).
I can’t see Pacioretty being resigned as his injuries have decimated his availability.
With luck Minten, Cowan and Grebenkin, all on ELC will make the team.
Marner at $12.5 is a $1.6 increase over his last contract.
I doubt Tavares will resign for less than $5 - $6 million if he continues the production (22gp, 10g, 11a, 21pts, +6) he has exhibited through the first 23 games of the season.
McCabe’s increase from $2M to $4.5 was an absolute necessity.
Dewar, Holmberg, Lorentz are all valuable at their current level of remuneration.

Treliving has fixed the defense with depth and the Goalies, he will now attempt to fix the forwards.

The problem is the no trade clauses, UFAs and teams are just not willing to trade right now.

Only small trades are happening until after the new year.
