I think the Leafs will be looking at Colton Sissons as a target. A right shot centreman that is very good defensively(PK's) while putting up around 30 points a season. Good on the dot, isn't afraid to take the body and signed one more season at $2.857.
Nash
Robertson $.875M
2025 2nd
Tor
Sissons $2.857
Leafs would still need to move some cap, but if they move Timmins or Holmberg in a separate deal, they should be fine with LTIR they have to use.

I will put your response for you already Grumpy.
He is physical but not intimidating apparently.

I like sissons for a 4th line add.

Goat. If you don't think he can play 3rd line, then I don't see him as a fit on the 4th line at $2.8M.

It’s not that he can’t play 3C I just don’t see him as a great 3rd line player but that just my opinion and I could be dead wrong.

RLF I had targeted Sissons a while back and I do like the fact he is RH, PK's, hits, good on the dot and is defensively strong.
But the more I look at our situation, it leads me to target someone who has more scoring upside. I think the Leafs need to spend a bit more and target someone like Brock Nelson who can score and is also defensively responsible. Not sure what he would cost, but I'm assuming a 1st, a good prospect and another pick for retention.

I find it comical that we are paying 4 F’s over 45M of the teams cap and we are always looking for secondary/ depth scoring. Don’t waste assets on Brock Nelson, he isn’t making a difference for what you’re gonna have to give up. Plus Chief for some dumb reason won’t split up Matthews and Marner so it’s not like we can make 3 offensive lines. Nelson would be with Domi and McMann and not much will change IMO. McMann will still get his cookies but the line will probably be average most nights. I’m all for going after a Sissons/ Bjugstad type of D holding that 3C spot until Minten is ready to take it over.

Tags. I get what you are saying. Can the Leafs really afford to pick up a rental that would cost them a 1st, good prospect and another asset for retention? Cupboards are going to start to look really bare again if they do that. If Nelson would do an extension with the deal, say for 4X$3.5M to keep the cap hit down, then I would be more onboard as he is typically very productive in the playoffs.

Clarky. I think Nelson is the only one who would make a difference over any of the other options I've read out about.
RLF. It's definitely a gamble, especially with our recent history (all in with ROR, sucked he didn't sign with us after the run), but ROR was a difference maker and he helped get us by a round. I think Nelson can help us in the same way, just hopefully he chooses to sign with us after the playoffs.
IMO if we don't target someone who may be a difference maker, then I would rather stand pat and save our future assets and play with what we have.
