Ana
Rielly $7.5M
Marner rights - (with acknowledgment he is willing to sign)
Tor
Zegras $5M
Luneau ELC
Colangelo RFA
I know, Zegras. Don't want him either, but Toronto takes back his contract with only a year left on it. They could flip him and even retain and come out better. Colangelo(67 hits, 10 goals in 32 games) is like Knies-lite but right handed. Luneau is the offensive minded D Leafs have been looking for and RD to boot. Both will be cheap giving Leafs tons of cap space.
Anaheim picks up a vet LD that has been a top 4 his whole career. Plus a top line RW to sign while only removing one guy off their roster(Zegras) they would probably like to move.

I'm not sure Anaheim does this. If they do, im fine with it as it's essentially free.

I don’t think your aiming high enough RLF haha this trade looks good for down the road but it doesn’t fill a need now also if the leafs were to trade for Zehra’s I’d flip him immediately.

LL/ Goat.
Here's my thinking behind the proposal.
Zegras decline has been pretty dramatic for two seasons now. Rumours last year had Anaheim wanting to move him, but not takers. Although Rielly had a bad season, I would think his value is still higher than Zegras. If we take Zegras, Anaheim needs to put a bit of a sweetener. Basically, Rielly for Zegras and most of Lunaeu's value.
With Marner giving Anaheim that he is willing to sign with them should the number be right (which they would have an idea what that is) . Rights of Marner, (No deal in place) for Colangelo and rest of Luneau's value.
Just my opinion, but Luneau and Colangelo should make the Leafs out of camp and Zegras with 50% retained should be easy for the Leafs to move.

Ok my only thing is if they take zegras is that they flip him leafs can’t have any more mentally and physically soft players.

Goat. That would be my plan if I was making the deal. I don't want Zegras on the team, so moving him even if it means retaining, still puts the Leafs in a better position, especially cap wise while adding two young players. Imo.

It is beginning to appear that a west coast team will be a destination for Marner.
LA’s new GM, Ken Holland is reported to be hot on Marner’s trail.
Anaheim seems a logical destination with all of their young talent and cap space.
Similarly Utah if Marner and his wife prefer a quieter more laid back lifestyle and environment for their new family than Los Angeles offers.
Leafs should be talking to each of these team, giving them permission to speak with Marner’s camp prior to July 1st to see if there is any mutual interest between Marner and a team in the hopes of negotiating a trade enabling Marner collect on the 8th year of his next contract.
Though I don’t care for Zegras, I a sure he can be flipped to some team like the Canadiens for another asset.
This would definitely be a positive outcome for losing Marner!
