With the #2 pick, Leafs select Porter Martone, RW, to replace Nylander (3 years of ELC.
He is a bit of a Matthew Knies clone.

Tavares will take less than that to finish his career in Toronto. Nylander isn’t gonna waive. Zero interest in Marchand.

@CKPS please explain the 0 interest in Marchand. A guy with character. Does what it takes to win and he elevates in playoffs. Also has never taken his worth in any contract he has got. Sounds like a player we don’t need?.

Not gonna pay 6m for a 41 yr old Marchand. hes probably the most dispised player to leaf fans. Good luck selling that to them. Meanwhile Bennet is at least 10 years younger and performs better in a position leafs are desperate to improve.

Hrenklin, I think you’re wrong on how fans feel about Marchand. He’s a classic, “hate playing against him, would love him on my team” guy. He also happens to be exactly what this team needs.
I’d much rather Marchand for 3 years than Bennett on a 7 year deal.
