Why go after Bennett at 8-10 million when you can try and make a trade for a guy that would love to come back and play for his hometown team again. What kind of a package would it take to get Kadri back???? And he's making 7 million!!

Because Bennett as of right now is probably top 5 in the NHL as a playoff performer. What do the Leafs need? It’s like a perfect match. Kadri is making 7.5M for like the next 6 years and is gonna be old and wrinkly by the time this deal is done.

Actually Kadri’s contract is for $7 million per year not $7.5

Also Kadri is under contract for 4 more years NOT 6 more years.

Kadri is at an age where we can reasonably expect a significant decline. that's a bad, bad contract to take on without serious retention.
