So 1 yr of Kane at 5.25m could be a risk work taking. He plays with that edge, has 2 runs to the final, but is streaky, but still produces are a .5 ppg in the playoffs, and 3.7 hits per game. He's not small, I can see a great fit on a 3rd line or even the second line with injuries.

He's the kinda style the Leafs dna needs, he seems to have gotten past and matured since that drama with his ex. And he's only got 1 yr left on his contract.

The leafs give up a small bottom middle 6 player and one of their few draft picks. I'd almost feel better if the Leafs just trade their draft picks from this year to next year.

Cuz it's more inline with the deal Seattle just made for Marchment who makes 750k less.

Understand the comparison but Kane and Marchment are different players.
Marchment does not carry the same baggage that Kane.
Oilers will have a difficult time dealing him.

His issues are from 5 years ago, minus he batrubbish crazy ex wife. But like I mentioned, he seems to have matured quite a bit. It's 1 year of a player who put up 44 points and 250 hits. Kinda brings in the DNA the leafs could use.
