3 way trade
Fla
Cowan ELC (T)
Jarnkrok $2.1M(T)
Dal
Lundell $5M (F)
N. Robertson RFA (T)
Tor
J. Robertson $7.75M (D)
Florida pretty much solves their cap issues while picking up a very good prospect(Cowan) and a useful bottom 6 guy in Jarnkrok, who is on the last year of his deal. Florida avoids sending Lundell to an Eastern opponent.
Dallas picks up Lundell and Nick Robertson for Jason while solving their cap issues. J. Robertson is on the last year of his deal and likely due for a raise on his next deal, which might be hard for Dallas to afford. Lundell is signed at $5M for multiple seasons easing the cap issues going forward for Dallas.
Toronto gets a goal scorer in J. Robertson to help ease the loss of Marner's overall production. He has also produced fairly well in the playoffs. Removing Jarnkrok and sending down Reaves would allow this to work cap wise.

J. Robertson? What does he do for us in playoffs. Dallas can’t wait to get rid of him because he is another no show when the games get tough and physical. No thanks to Jason. Can we please go after guys who are proven playoff performers. Not projects that we hope turn out for us.

Clarky, Not sure what you mean by not showing up in the playoffs.
For example, in the final 3 games against Edmonton, Dallas only scored 5 total goals, Robertson had 4 of them. Granted, he didn't produce much against Winnipeg, but for his career, he has 44 points in 56 playoff games. That would easily put him near the the top of the heap in Toronto. He also has 69 hits and 37 blocked shots in those 56 playoff games. I am not saying he is overly physical, but we need some skill as well.
As much as I love having size and physicality on the team, Leafs can't have all their guys big and physical that only score 5-15 goals a year heading into the playoffs. Robertson has size, is still young and RFA at the end of his contract where he will still only be 26.

RLF we are getting rid of Mitch because we already have too many of that type of player. Now you’re just trading one for a less talented one. We need someone who had big cohonas that’s not afraid to mix it up. I want guys that aren’t gonna be pushed around by Floridas rat crew and go into their shell. I’ve seen it for way too long and I’m sick of it.

Me too. So, who was available that puts up top 6 numbers?

Alex Tuch
For Easton Cowan and David Kampf.

@RLF it’s gonna have to come via trade now. Most FA’s that make sense for us are gone. Tuch is a good trade target, I’ve mentioned Schenn. Depends on who is moving players.

Clarky, how on earth can you say we are getting rid of Marner because we have too many of that type of player?
The leader of the PP, 1st PK, 102 points.
I think he got rid of us!
And I don’t think the Leafs were soft in the playoffs and the loss can’t be singularly hung on Marner.
One of the Core4 had to go, agreed, but your statement is ludicrous.

I still believe if Trev can move a couple more contracts he can take a shot at Ehlers.

Clarky. Yea it would need to be by trade. I am asking who was available that wasn't by trade that could play top 6 and bring that physical element?
