This is my personal opinion on this team is stick with what you have right now. We are looking for a top 6 winger and we know Patches plays well with JT and you have Cowan in the minors now. We move off of Kampf, Jarnkrok, Robertson. Sign Patches for 1M+. Make these guys earn spots.

Maccelli - sitting Maccelli to start but will have plenty of opportunity to prove himself to steal a spot in the top 6. I want to see him earn it. Now we would also have some cap space if we wanted to pick up a winger at the deadline . Feel free to drop your opinion but this is how I would start against MTL game 1.

Clarky stop rubbishting on Maccelli. I think he'll be our best pickup from the summer.
Anyways, agree on staying status quo for now and getting rid of Robertson & Kampf (build up cap dollars for TDL) . I'm still on the fence with regards to Jarnkrok.

Tags I’m not crapping on him. Just want to see him earn it. Not come here and land 1st line spot off the bat. Just want him to prove he is reliable in both ends of the ice. Have him, Domi, McMann, Patches battling for ice time.

Clarky agreed on not to put him on the 1st line.
I've read that he's pretty good defensively, so I think playing him on L3 with Roy and Joshua/ McMann is the ideal starting point.

I have been saying for a while that Tre needs to remain patient. Yes, move those 3 if possible. Keep cap space. As for the lines. With Joshua, Roy, Maccelli, Pazzetta and Laughton for that matter all new, I want to see what camp looks like before declaring lines etc. Like Tags, I think Maccelli is going to surprise a few people. He is quick, good work ethic and has good hands.

Thatguy I guess it dependsb9n chemistry achieved in camp, but I honestly believe JT and Nylander will play much better with a power forward on their line. Someone who will forecheck hard and dig in the corners to retrieve the puck.

Mac likes the right side so if he has a good camp I can see him on the top line to start. A lot of options for leafs. I know Domi is not a first line winger but I wouldn’t be surprised berube putting him up there to see if he can rekindle that chemistry with Matthews.

@Leafs2425, you’re not paying attention. I’m not benching him. I think he should earn what he gets here. Not just bring him over and flop him on the 1st line. Bérubé should be giving him a small list of things he wants to see out of him. And when you do what the coach asks he promotes you. But when you start at the top, the only place to go is down. I want to see guys battling for the 1RW spot and the 2LW all year. I hope Maccelli proves me wrong this year, but I’ve also said all along that I think he was a good regular season addition but can see him being much quieter once the games get physical in playoffs.

The point of putting Mac on the second line isn't to feed Nylander, to become acclimated to the team using JT's ability as a co. pletr player.
