I've always liked Parayko and think he would be a great partner for Rielly (plays over 23 minutes a night) . He's huge, great defensively and PK's. He has a booming shot, so possibly Leafs can try him on PP2 as well.

St. Louis gets a solid defensive Dman who is 3.5 years younger and signed to a much cheaper deal. Also, a younger scoring winger who plays either side and a 2nd round pick.

Thoughts?

I think it costs us a bit more than that IMO. Like Danford instead of the 2nd. But would a nice addition.

Rather keep Carlo. Danford, Robertson, Domi, 2nd and Jarnkok for Parayko.

Move Kamph for any pick.

Good prop. It might take a bit more from the Leafs, but solid prop.

I figured I was underestimating the package value from the Leafs end. I'd be fine adding Danford or a 1st, instead of the second.

This is strictly for you because I know you'll be mentioning his age.
Parayko is 32 & will just turn 37 in May of the final year of his contract (just before playoffs) .
And, even though Parayko is huge and great defensively, he is not an overly physical (hitting) player, so his body should have no problem lasting into his mid 30's. He will not fall apart IMO.

Parayko would be a great partner for McCabe on the 1st pairing.
That would allow Tanev to slide back to the 2nd pair with Morgan Reilly.

I think it takes a little more to get the deal done.
Would St Louis be interested in either Hildeby or Akhtyamov?
