Why don’t we try to sign Josh Leivo and give him and opportunity. He played very well in Vancouver and got an chance to revamp his career and play with some good NHL stars. With the depth forwards that Toronto has signed, he should sign back here and be on our third or fourth line and give Robertson and opportunity to develop his game with m the minors and when he develops then he can play in the big leagues. You give Leivo a one year $700k deal to prove himself that he can play on a stacked team like this and be in the lineup every night then sign him to an extension and if he doesn’t play up to his standards then trade him mid season or trade deadline. Easy as that.

That's my point though Randy. He was here for a bit same as Connor brown. Would have happily kept them both. Don't think either comes back now though.

Accidentally sent the last post by accident. With Igor he was just garbage and packed his back and went back to Russia. Now with Lehtonen I know he’s from Sweden and players from Sweden always end up being great players. But I’m not so sure he is going to play great. I’ve surface is smaller in the NHL and you got the media as well so we will see what happens.

There’s something that has been on my mind that I want to air out. To be honest I don’t think Mikko Lehtonen is going to pan out and have a good career in the NHL and here’s why. If you look at the defencemen that come from the KHL and come in sign in the NHL to play in North America. They never really end up playing as well as we expect them to play. For example, look at Nikita Zaitsev and Igor Ozhiganov. They played great in the KHL and when they had an opportunity to come and play in the NHL, everyone was hyped because we all as Toronto fans expected them to put up good numbers. Never worked out. Zaitsev wanted out and got traded and had one great season in the NHL and never had had a season like that again and.

Here’s my opinion. Kyle Dubas said that this team is most likely done but I would do one more trade to help our defence out. You look at the addition we have gotten in the past 8 months. Mikko Lehtonen, best defencemen in the KHL and with those stats that he has over the course of his KHL career he can slot into that third line pairing on the left side with a guy like Bogosian. TJ Brodie is a fantastic addition because he’s someone who has had experience playing with the likes of Giordano in Calgary and Giordano is a Norris trophy winner so he’s learned a lot from him over the years and he can use that experience and all that advice he has gotten from Giordano and help Rielly our on that first line. Next is Zach Bogosian. Stanley Cup Champion. He can play that right side on the third line and can go up and down the line if needed. He plays that physical game that Toronto has been looking for and he’s that guy that can be a leader for all the young guys in the locker room and teach them things that they might not know. There are a couple of defencemen I’d get to play with Muzzin. Hamonic, Vatanen, Manson, Weegar and Savard. And then I’d trade away Dermott and Holl to help that defence out. And I would but Lehtonen on the third line left side and put Sandin in the minors because I don’t think he’s NHL ready yet.

If I was Dubas I would trade for Mcdavid and MacKinnon. Maybe Makar as well.

According to Kyle Dubas, the Leafs are likely done making trades but the keyword is likely which kinda means I think there might be one more deal coming. I would trade Dermott and Holl. And three defencemen I would acquire are Manson, Savard and Weegar. With Manson and Savard I said they should have traded for these players at the trade deadline but it never happened and I thought they should’ve trade for them during the playoffs but that’s didn’t workout as well. And with Weegar he should got moved during free agency and the names that should’ve been traded were Dermott and Johnsson but Johnsson got trade to the Devils. Anyone one of those players should be playing with Muzzin or move them down to the third line and have Bogosian play with Muzzin.

Davidmackin I totally disagree. The reason they signed him is because they know that on a team that really hasn’t done much in like 2-3 season, he can be that leader in the locker room and that guy that will average 50-60 points in your team. In Toronto he didn’t contribute much which is because of all the talent that they got on that team and the guys upfront are stacked. When he got traded I knew that he was going to restart his career and be one of there best player in Ottawa and he had and I can see him and Brady being two of the best players on the team for years to come.
