So the Sabres should trade a 26 year old best player who scores goals for a 7th defenceman and unproven prospect.

I know this site is just for fun, but trade proposals like this is why so many people despise leaf fans.

Thompson is a team leader.
I don’t think he is going anywhere let alone for a defenseman who can not make his own team’s starting lineup and an unproven prospect.
Plus you expect Buffalo to retain $3.5M?
Somewhat unrealistic!
