Just another Toronto Trade that may not happen:

Toronto Trades: Phaneuf, Bernier,Kadri, Kessel, 4th Overall(Strome/Hannifin)

Edmonton Trades: McDavid(1st overall), Draisaitl, Nurse

Then Toronto trades:
Bozak, Lupul

Washington Trades:
2nd pick in 15/16


I know this may not happen but feel free to comment what would be better.

i honestly do not see a problem. edmonton needs a starting goalie, they need better defence, and kessel and kadri would help their offence. I know people don't want to trade 1st overall especially if its mcdavid but I think the value is there

I don't believe the return for a 1st overall trade will be as enormous as it was when quebec traded lindros to philly for forsberg. Kadri and kessel do not fit into edmontons system. Since that's potentially $25+ million in additional salary. I can see a Phanuef, Bozak, Reimer, Percy, Leivo plus the 4th overall pick for McDavid, Nikitin and Hendriks. You have to look at Edmonton asking Toronto to fill out the holes of their roster while also providing potential and young assets. Look for Phanuef to have up to 2.5$ retained on his contract. This would add less than 11$mil in contracts while adding two depth players in Leivo and Percy who are on the cusp of becoming everyday NHLers. Reimer isn't as good as Bernier but is way better than Scrivens and Fasth. James is cheaper than what Bernier will be paid but only for one year and at which point they can assess whether to retain reimer for more money or look to sign an FA in 2016

The only possibility would be to trade Crosby and something for McDavid. oh wait that's a Penguins trade;)
