From Toronto: Bozak

From Washington: laich and samsonov

Bozak is a huge upgrade on laich who has been terrible. Bozak is 300k cheaper and Washington is right up against the cap. Washington is significantly better immediately and leafs help them up the middle for their playoff run. Leafs get a good goaltending spec. Leafs may have to add. Your thoughts?

Your getting a former first round pick for bozak which I think is fair value. The question is how good is Samsonov as a goalie prospect. I don't really fear Russian players bolting to KHL anymore as that league is in huge trouble. The Leafs do need goaltending blue chip prospects as Bernier and REimer are gone soon.

Agreed I think the value is there, but for someone who's still signed to the KHL for 2-3 years, he may not buy into the leafs especially if the plan is to have him in the AHL for a little while

He's never going to get a shot playing behind Holtby, being traded to Toronto would be more than a welcomed opportunity. He would have a chance to be a starter within 3 years with the mess the Leafs goalie situation is in.
