This is my first post. I know this is a rebuild for the leafs but with all the pieces leafs have. They are only 3-4 pieces away from completing the rebuild. Potential trade ideas.

To STL: Kadri
To TOR: Shattenkirk
Why: Shattenkirk might have little more value but realistically talking, he only has 1 year left. Kadri is a great 2nd line C with higher potential. Backes will be gone. Kadri is also signed for 6 years on a good salary cap.

Trade for a goalie or give bernier a 2nd try or sign Riemer.

Sign Riemer
Sign Stamkos (Possibility, only a guy can hope)
Sign Bottom 6 forward
Resign Parenteau

Next year line
JVR Stamkos Marner
Nylander Matthews Komarov
Lupul Bozak Free Agent
Greening Laich FA

Rielly Shattenkirk
Gardiner Zaitsev

Riemer or Bernier or Trade
Bernier if not starter

Bozak could be a good 3rd line center and could also play 2nd line if any injury. Lupul is almost untradeable due to his injury.

Not sure they would trade Kadri after just signing him to an extension (unless Stammer gets signed of course). Anderson was just acquired and signed so no Reimer; hopefully Bernier can get traded away. Let's see.

i honestly feel like its highly unlikely we will sign stamkos. That being said, I would much rather keep Kadri, try to trade Bozak and and a B level prospect in exchange for a guy like Trouba from the jets.
We can also try to sign Shattenkirk next year if he hits free agency!

I would love to trade Bozak but Kadri has higher value then Bozak. Have to sacrifice value for value. I like Kadri a lot. He's good with the puck and he just keeps getting better and better under babcock,
