No buffalo don't wanna trade risto and I don't blame them but they are getting no where's in deals

So value wise how would this be

Leafs Nylander gardner and 2nd

Buffalo risto and moulson

My thought for buffalo would be they get a dman that can run there power play and still has a bit of defensive upside if coached right. They get a good young forward I project to be a winger not a center they have is brother already as a prospect and a pick to sweater the pot. Buffalo would also save about half million in cap space by trading moulson and gardner could be of value to them as moulson is not.

Tor takes moulson contract on yes but get a stud young dman that they could build the team around with Reilly and Mathews

Just want to know value wise.

Value wise, it's an overpayment from the leafs. Nylander alone should be close enough (I know, rabble rabble young RHD vs unproven rookie), or Gardiner plus mid value piece. Adding Moulson makes this trade even worse.

I have to agree, the leafs overpay here. Why not:

Gardiner + bozak

Ristolainen + 2nd

The thing about the trade is the leafs can't afford it. They are going to have to sign ristolainen to a nice contract close to Reilly and molson just isn't worth much at this point. At least this way we free up about 7-8mill 2-3 after signing ristolainen and get a pick for bozak

Statistically speaking Leaf fans really don't see the value of Gardner. I wouldn't call him elite just yet but when you compare the two Gardner (top 2) is far superior to Ristolainen (2nd/3rd pair). Check out the Hero charts on both.

If Gardner continues on his current path that contract he signed will make him an excellent piece that Lou will be loathe to trade away.

Risto is and will be far superior to Gards.

LOL @ Leafs Lunch. let's see. Gardiner vs Risolainen
in terms of goalscoring, playmaking and production Gards is a top 2 while Risto is a top 6/4 player (as per Own the Puck HERO charts). in terms of shot generation/suppression and possession Gards is ranked top 2 while Risto is ranked as a depth/top 6 player.

Case closed I think.
