Ducks trade Fowler Vermette

The reason leafs want Vermette is to expose him n expansion draft

Ducks will want to expose Kesler he is having great year but he is nearly 7 million a season for after this year 5 more seasons and he is 32 years old also ducks could expose Cogliano earning 3 million next season

This will clean up cap trouble for the ducks espially if Kesler is claimed.

How does it hurt the leafs it's only f duck as really need it. The contracts leafs trade from JVR Bozak and Kamarov all expire next season. It's just a cherry leafs throw on top if team they are trading with need cap relief it's meaningless to Toronto. The leafs are in cap heaven until the kids entry level deals expire.

The ducks can't trade Kessler look at his contract he putting up good numbers now but 6 more yrs including this one at nearly 7 million. He 38 when contract is done trust ducks want Vegas to take him. But he has no movement clause so he would have to approve being exposed.

Teams want players between 24 and 28 that's when the peak s so I'm saying watch leafs in 4 to 8 seasons. Babcock said it when his contract ends he will want to stick around few more years as leafs will be that good.

Toronto doesn't need to retain and needs to get more than Fowler in the deal.

They don't need to trade Kesler(NMC) this year, nor would they want to. He will be a vital part of their cup run.

Vermette is NMC and must be protected by the Ducks. So if they trade him, a good prospect or pick must be the return, but they'll keep him as one of the required forwards exposed, since his cost and production are low.

The player they are desperate to trade is Bieksa. This is where the other teams need to make their pitch. This way they can protect Lindhom, Vatenen, and Fowler. The Leafs can go for prospects and picks in return.

Lab I'm not saying they trade kesler now I'm saving they expose him to Vegas look contract. They have Kessler til he 39 at 7 million that's not good for ainheim.but kesler controls his destiny with no movement clause so it doesn't matter if kesler says no ducks are stuck with him.

Mapleleafer the leafs gave away Kessel they just got Kapanan because they ate alt of Kessel money Phaneaf they only get relief this summer but in terms of assets for Phaneaf leafs didn't get much if anything. So kesler contract is same as Phaneaf it's a coach killer.
