TOR: Bozak(C), Dermott(LHD), Carrick(RHD), later 2nd

VEG: O. Lindberg(C), Hague(LD OHL), 2019 NYI 2nd.

The Knights get a veteran center, a n NHL ready D, and a 2nd this year.

The Leafs get a 3rd line 2 way center who wants out of Vegas, a raw, but hulking 2nd round D prospect, and a 2nd delayed one year.

The Leafs also gain a much needed contract space and a little cap space.

Bozak will not be coming back to the Leafs and Vegas might just be the right place for him. He's a level headed experienced center that is just right to tutor their group of incoming young talented center's.

Dermott is one of my fav's, but Hague is a monster with some offensive talent. Just imagine Rasanen and Hague beside each other. And he's aggressive and fast.

Carrick gets moved giving them a much needed RHD.

And a swap of 2nd's. The logic here is that Taveras sign's elsewhere and the Isles plummet in the standings next year, giving us a quality 2nd pick, something we won't see for hopefully a long time.

Does the nhl draft not still do the snake draft where the best team picks 31st and 32nd? 2nds you would then want from high end teams 1st from crapshute teams.

Only EA Sports does that.

I like Hague and I'd like him to be in the system. So maybe just get Hague and not give up Dermott.

Marner11:

You could arguably swap Dermott with Neilsen.

A second line centre for a third line centre, an NHL defencemen in Carrick, a top 4 potential prospect in Dermott for a prospect who needs some work and a higher 2nd for what's looking to be a very late second from a solid Vegas squad.

Clearing a contract spot isn't worth it.

@Pickle

I might be light on the return for Bozak, but he is 30, declining, and won't be back next year. This all lowers his return value, and we can't afford him at 4M+. Oscar is a 1.7M two way center/ LW with good skills.

Hague is extremely fast for a Dman his size and he will become a dominant, aggressive, LHD after a few years. Giving up Dermott or Neilsen for him is a no-brainer. I like Carrick's vigour, but he is done here in no more than a year.

The 2nd coming back is the Islanders 2019 2nd which Vegas owns; not the 2018. I expect the Isles to falter in 2019 when Tavares signs elsewhere. It's a minor gamble, that just might pay off.
