Washington Trades
Kuznetsov*
3rd Round Pick 2022

Toronto Trades
Rielly
Kerfoot
Engvall

*Washington retains 1.8m each year for the remaining Contract of Kuznetsov.

Washington wants to part ways with Kuznetsov but not give him away even though his value isn't at peak anymore, so to bite that bullet and get a good return back they will have to retain some of his salary and add a 3rd Round Pick, Toronto did the same thing in the Kessel trade so it has been done before, Kerfoot replaces Kuznetsov as a second line centre, Engvall is a solid 4th line left winger and Rielly a top left handed defenceman paired with Carlson.

Toronto gets another top centre that only makes them better up front, so people will say ok yes Kuznetsov is an upgrade on Kerfoot but we are losing Rielly and Engvall ? Sandin and Liljegren ready to take the next step plus one year left on Rielly's contract makes him expendable, as for Engvall he isn't in the plans for this upcoming season anyways.

It's a win win situation for both Teams and what they are looking for.

1.8X4 = 7.2 that’s a 1st rounder minimum owed
However since it’s 4 years I can see 2 2nds working or 4 3rds working as well.

Kuznetsev for rielly and kerfoot seems about right
So take out Engvall and add whatever draft package I suggested u want

Now since 8.5 is leaving having Washington retain really isn't needed this Engvall makes it 9.75.

That’s more line it
Toronto adds big time skill but loses I guess quantity of less combined skill.
