Tor: Michalek
Vancouver: 3rd round pick 2017

Vancouver has struggled with offence for the first part of the season. Michalek could be a good offensive add to their team. It would make space on the already overcrowded marlies and get the Leafs a spare contract.

Given Michalek's contract, this is a no go. No way do they take on that much salary for a player they could have got for free via waivers, let alone pay a 3rd for him

Toronto could afford to keep salary on his contract. He is a UFA at the end of the season so maybe Toronto keeps 2 mill

Take a 4th, a 5th , . 7th, nothing! Who cares. He's not worth the paperwork. He's done nothing since we got stuck taking him to get rid of Dion Pylon.

Just get his lame contract off our books before the deadline.

At least Laich tried, and Greening succeeded some.

This guy whined when he got traded here, and sulked while he was here.

He needs to go; the sooner the better. His kind is poison around a team.

Can't see why there hasn't been more pushing this direction with both Michalek and Greening unless Lou is waiting closer to the deadline hoping to get better value.Maybe after the WJC would be a good time. At that point (with 50% retained), Michalek would be about a 1m cap hit for a receiving team and Greening would be about 0.7m. Would free up some cap space for the leafs and open up a couple of spots with the Marlies for prospects (Brooks, Bracco, Korostelev) to get some pro time after their WJC experience. Even Laich at the deadline to a team desperate for a 4th line character centre. A couple of mid round picks in 2018 would look good to continue the rebuild, keeping the pipe loaded with prospects.

Lou is probably afraid he'll trade them and they'll become the next Grabner or Panik lol.
