Leafs Trade: Leo Komorav,2017 2nd, 2018 3rd
to
Arizona Coyotes
For Jakob Chychrun

Leafs get a prospect defensemen and also make room on the right wing for Bracc to come up next year and Komorav is out of the division.

Yotes might go for this, couple of early round picks to continue their rebuild and a guy that can move up and down the lineup and play all 3 positions.
See some positives from the Leafs side. Can slide into the 3rd pairing and get protected minutes, fill the LHD hole in the lineup (upgrade over Marincin/Hunwick), give Nielsen/ Dermott more time to develop in the AHL, develop into a shut down D-man and eventually push Gardiner for top 4 pairing and make him a valuable trade chip. Also opens up a spot on Kadri's line for Soshnikov with Brown on the right side. Like it.

I don't see the Coyotes dealing Chychrun at all. I think they got a mid round steal with him. The Leafs should have traded up with their multiple picks to pick a player like this rather than some of their draft picks

3.) 16 Dec 2016 15:59:33
Yotes traded up to get Chychrun in the draft. They will not trade him for more lower draft picks and Komarov

4.) 16 Dec 2016 18:07:27
I wish but they wouldn't do it.

Tor: Michalek
Vancouver: 3rd round pick 2017

Vancouver has struggled with offence for the first part of the season. Michalek could be a good offensive add to their team. It would make space on the already overcrowded marlies and get the Leafs a spare contract.

Given Michalek's contract, this is a no go. No way do they take on that much salary for a player they could have got for free via waivers, let alone pay a 3rd for him

2.) 09 Dec 2016 18:42:16
Toronto could afford to keep salary on his contract. He is a UFA at the end of the season so maybe Toronto keeps 2 mill

3.) 10 Dec 2016 01:09:05
Take a 4th, a 5th , . 7th, nothing! Who cares. He's not worth the paperwork. He's done nothing since we got stuck taking him to get rid of Dion Pylon.

Just get his lame contract off our books before the deadline.

At least Laich tried, and Greening succeeded some.

This guy whined when he got traded here, and sulked while he was here.

He needs to go; the sooner the better. His kind is poison around a team.

4.) 10 Dec 2016 03:22:34
Can't see why there hasn't been more pushing this direction with both Michalek and Greening unless Lou is waiting closer to the deadline hoping to get better value.Maybe after the WJC would be a good time. At that point (with 50% retained), Michalek would be about a 1m cap hit for a receiving team and Greening would be about 0.7m. Would free up some cap space for the leafs and open up a couple of spots with the Marlies for prospects (Brooks, Bracco, Korostelev) to get some pro time after their WJC experience. Even Laich at the deadline to a team desperate for a 4th line character centre. A couple of mid round picks in 2018 would look good to continue the rebuild, keeping the pipe loaded with prospects.

5.) 10 Dec 2016 15:48:24
Lou is probably afraid he'll trade them and they'll become the next Grabner or Panik lol.

Tor: Peter Holland
Montreal: Conditional 7 (Whether Holland resigns with the team)

Montreal gets a center to fill one of their injury spot and basically gets Holland for free. The Leafs get rid of Holland and his cap hit and lose a contract off of their roster to activate Leivo and possibly sign Ramo.

1.) 09 Dec 2016 17:09:59
at least a 5th

2.) 09 Dec 2016 17:50:17
maybe a conditional 5th if Holland resigns but the Leafs NEED to get rid of his contract so I would not care if we get a 7th even, he's only on a one year deal and would be a rental player for Montreal with all of their injuries

3.) 09 Dec 2016 17:57:28
Also you have to remember he went through waivers and no one claimed him so a 5th may be pushing it a bit

4.) 10 Dec 2016 00:18:44
Conditional sixth rounder only if the Yotes resign him; that's his worth.

The leafs have a lot of good up and coming forward prospects such as Mitch Marner, William Nylander, Nikita Soshnikov and more and likely Auston Matthews. Not to mention the players they already have such as JVR, Kadri, Reilly and Gardiner who are all good Players that the leafs currently have. Not to mention the possibility of a certain UFA this summer, the leafs should be a lot better at offense in the coming years but we really don't have that much for goalies or for defense. Yes, they did recently get Nikita Zaitsev who is supposed to be a good offensive defensemen, but what the leafs are missing is size. The leafs in the coming years need a good defensive defensemen to help strengthen up their defensive core and bring more physical play into their games which is something the leafs lack right now and is something that they should probably get in the draft or through trades. As for the goalie situation some people want the leafs to trade for a goalie but it may not be their best route as most high goalie prospects will go for quite a price. Their best option is to draft a goalie and wait a few years. by then their elite prospects will have hopefully developed and started to dominant and by then they should hopefully be contending for a cup. Some people think the solution is to trade for a good veteran but do you guys remember what the leafs just went through the point of a rebuild is to develop player not get good veterans.

I kinda like this deal, could give the leafs a chance at another high draft pick and also could make room for more kids next year because Bracco has been tearing up the OHL just like Marner last year

Maybe. I am pretty sure the Leafs will not give up Bozak this year because of the chemistry he has with Marner and JVR I could not see them trading him until next year. If he was traded the Leafs don't have a second line center replacement for him so that would be an issue. Matthews isn't ready for promotion yet but next year possibly.
