Well Calvo, that may be how you feel.
I am sure you didn't, but if you consider L'Heureux was taken 27th overall in the 2021 NHL draft and Cowan 28th in the 2023 draft, it's not like they were viewed as 18 year olds as Cowan vastly superior.
L'Heureux has already proven himself in the AHL at almost a point per game and having a very solid rookie NHL season at 21 years old, takes the body, will fight and has offensive ability compared to - well, what has Cowan done so far at the pro level? Oh yea, nothing. He will be 20 in May and hasn't really even gotten a sniff at the NHL level. Nor has he been very good on the world stage of best against best. 2 World Juniors with only 5 pts in 10 games.
Add that Sissons is signed for one more season and better than Holmberg and Reaves combined, not sure how it is stupid. Unless you are one of those guys that think Cowan is going to be an NHL All-star. NHL stars typically have better than a max 34 goal season in Junior. For instance, even Marner had 44 and 39 seasons and he is a playmaker first. Max Domi had a 39 goal junior season, again a playmaker.
I have Cowan as a ceiling as 2nd line player in the NHL, not a star.

Like the trade for Spence, although I admit I know nothing about Spence, defense depth right handed is positive
Dumping Kampf creates cap space which at 2.4 I’m all for
Like the trade for McBain I think he has more to give offensively than what he has shown
Big body and a Center
I think in a previous post you mentioned the qualities of sissons, thanks for that
LHeureux is a nice add especially against the knobs from Florida, I like his game, I also think he can give more offensively
Im curious what the other GM’s think of Cowan
I have him as a max second line NHL winger
I think he ends up as a solid third liner that can be a grade one Penalty killer and can move up the lineup in case of injuries, 15 goals a year type
Solid post
I doubt tredeadthing does any of this
I’m really starting to not appreciate him.
