Ok so I’ve gone a tad over board on the Rielly trades but it seems so many people want him gone so let’s point out something here.
Reilly cap hit is 7.5 we all know but did you know the first 3 years of this deal Rielly actually received 28 million and this year has received 4 million this far. Rielly is owed 4 million this year then 4 years at 6 million .
What I’m getting at is a team not cap strapped who care less if actual cap hit and focus on saving money can view Rielly starting next year as a 6 million dollar dman which we should all agree that’s probably his real value .
So now you need to find a team who value money more than cap

Aniheim is that team.
Aniheim offence from back end is very blah. Lacombe leads the team with 24 points then the next best is 17,15,11,9,8 and 6 points. Rielly would lead this team in points and instantly boost their offence

Aniheim has a forward I think that would keep Matthews happy. His real life best friend since 14 years of age Troy Terry.
He had one goal scoring year that got him this deal but since 2021-22 he only has 61 54 and 55 points. He can’t seem to get back to that 37 goal season as he only has 64 in 3 seasons since. he has 40 points in 43 games but only 13 goals this season. I’d say he’d be a compliment passing linemate for Matthews and at 7 million per year and being owed 28 million overall Rielly being owed 24 million in same timeframe this deal is pretty close in value for a team wanting to save 500k in cap space for a team saves 4 million in real money over 4 years and only adding 500k cap space

Win win I think?

I don't actually agree here at all.

This isn't one of those frontloaded deals where his real dollar are 10% of cap. It's a small difference comparatively.

I'd also expect the Ducks to try and win a cup here very soon and pend the money to do so.

But Reilly deal is front loaded and while 4 million seems like a small comparative so is the 500k cap differance between the 2 players.

Whether it’s with Terry or Reilly either way Aniheim is stuck with a 7 million cap hit when they are going to start to spend . That cap hit is there regardless so why not save 4 million in the process. Easy savings for them.
