Anaheim to Leafs:
Sennecke
Trouba
Colangelo
Luneau
1st in 2026
2n in 2027
Leafs to Anaheim:
Nylander
Reilly
Lorentz
Sennecke with Cowan and Knies would be gold for years.
Trouba would bring a physicality on the blue line not seen in years. If he opts out to go to Free agency so be it. But it is a good trade off to get rid of Reilly's contract. Luneau will be a good offensive D man and Colangelo could potentially be a top 6 but definitely a good third line centre. It would be nice to pry Berly Catton and a 1st etc. out of Seattle but that would take a Matthews trade and not sure if Seattle is his cup of tea for a city to live in? More hope is on the way with Holinka playing for the Edmonton Juniors. He is lighting it up and has a physical side to him too.

Why does ANA make this deal? How do they improve enough to rationalize making this trade?
- Luneau's a RHD who's young, has a good cap hit.
- Rielly is a LHD, who's older, has a large cap hit.
- Sennecke's young, good cap hit, scoring at a good clip.
- Nylander's older, large cap hit increase for marginally higher scoring clip.
Yeah, sure, let's grab a first rounder off them as well so they can be marginally better (arguable) at the cost of $19m.

It is not at a cost of $19m When You take away Troubas salary and Luneau's and Colangelo's as well as Sennecke and Sennecke's $3.1 million bonus clause which gets applied in the following season to the cap. It works out to a difference of $6.6 m. Luneau and Colangelo don't have much of a NHL track record and both are buried behind players they can't get ahead of at the moment in the organization.
Coloangelo is behind Mctavish, Strome and Kreider wh play the style of game he does. Luneau is behind Zellweger and Mintyukov that play the same style. However both players could crack the lineup in Toronto as they both fill a need there. The salary is a slight edge to Anaheim on the Reilly for Trouba deal but a change of scenery for Reilly is needed for him and Trouba might not sign with either team anyway.
So Lorentz fills a 4 th line spot and can move to 3rd in injury situation at a low cap hit. The rest of the trad really is Sennecke and a 1st round with the two minor league players for Nylander. Other teams would offer a lot more for him but Anaheim is a team he would not balk at going to. He is a big fan of Leo Carlsson and they would be a pretty hard pair to control during a game. It's always hard finding a fit for players that have no movement clauses and this is one of the few that could work for Nylander.

Trouba's only on the books until the end of the year. Since it's a contract year and he's not a Ranger, he's playing pretty good. They have no reason to move him.

@ frensU & Sufferingsince67, I’m a huge supporter of doing whatever is takes to get a Toronto born and raised Canadian kid that clearly belongs in the NHL and arguably if it wasn’t for Schaffer in Long Island sorry bout the misspelling of his name, would have most likely ran away with the Calder Trophy B Sennecke I get what you’re are trying to accomplish in getting him if you're proposed trade wouldn’t work what would it take to acquire him? Thoughts? Cause if u look back I’ve thrown a few seemingly crazy props to get this kid on our team. I’d trade Matthews to get him + otters in return back but I’d be for Matthews and Sennecke be the two center pieces for a trade.

I don't see how ANA has any motivation to trade Sennecke, or anyone young on their roster.
They're starting their upswing in the standings, have no cap issues, and are already in a playoff spot.
There are teams out there with good picks and prospects that they'd be willing to deal, but it ain't ANA.
LA would be interested in Matthews, but they're not giving up Clarke or Byfield, as it doesn't make their roster any better. It'd be Greentree plus another prospect and a couple 1sts.
SEA has lots of picks and prospects, so I wonder if they'd want Nylander. Especially if they're trying to move Wright.
