Well with the Kucherov news outta left field heres an idea.

Tor: Nyander, OEL

TB: Kuvherov, Moser


Willy is younger and under contract for 5 more years.

OEL is a shorter contract and replacement level body for 1 more year of term.

Moser is younger more expensive and signed for many more years.


If the big boys dont want to go, then we can try to target Moser for a draft pick or something workable. He would go well with Raddysh again and we can work his 7m ish cap hit in.

I don’t see Nylander agreeing to a trade... Marchenko would be more realistic as he doesn’t have any protection until next year, I just don’t know how I feel about paying Kucherov 20mil x 7 seasons which is what he will get, paying him until age 41.

Personally I think Kuch is the best winger that has ever player hockey. I have never seen someone drive a line from the wing the way he does.

That said, he definitely is not worth whatever some knob will pay him longterm. You never know when the decline will come and it is sometimes sudden. I would steer clear unless I thought he was the missing piece.

Anyone paying a 33yr old that kind of money and term is utterly ????. He wants $20m a season, no more than a 2yr deal. He’s on the wrong side of 30.

FYI there isn’t a player in the NHL that would nix a trade to Florida. It’s the most desirable landing spot among players other than Vegas right now. Willy would pocket the majority of his salary moving there and be in the Sun 365 days a year. He would definitely agree to be traded there.
