If the Leafs pick 1st and pick Matthews, you keep him. You don't trade away that type of talent! He would instantly be their top propect.

Imagine their top 3 prospects in ranking as
1. Matthews
2. Marner
3. Nylander

Pretty damn impressive, you take Matthews out and the player you add is 4th on that list!
