Ultimately we didn't get much. but we shouldn't really complain he's a UFA at the end of the season anyway and weather we resign him or not he's really not a part of the leafs future plans. We get a pick and a player who can plug a hole that the trade deadline will produce and it allows a better look at Sparks and Bibeau

I was always saying PAP would net a 3rd and nothing higher, but he keeps putting up points so I now think a 2nd and a 4th is very likely

I love it, the fact that we traded him without retaining is a miracle. I know most people think we should have gotten more, but its because we didn't retain that its only a 2nd. The players we took back will either be traded or take the place of players who will be traded closer to the deadline. Also their contracts expire at the end of next season. The players we gave up would never be in the long term plans and were all 2nd-4th line Marlies at best. Ottawa just did us a big favor
