I think if we got the 4th overall pick it would need to be a D, but we could get the same defence at 6-10 so if this ever did happen the leafs should then trade down a few spots

If we were to trade up for another top draft. Tkachuk is even more appealing then a dman. Simply because his familiarity with both Marner and Matthews.
Just the idea of that line is crazy to think of

Tkachuk is the perfect "compliment" to Marner's passing & possession skill set as wittnessed in London this year. And Matthews is a clear upgrade from Dvorak(no slouch).

2016 projected forwards (assuming we sign Stamkos):

JVR Stamkos Nylander ( #1 Line )

Tkachuk Matthews Marner ( Skill Line - soon to be #1 )

Komarov Kadri Soshnikov ( Aggravation Line - My Fav)

A. Johnson Hyman Brown ( Checking Line that can score )

Fill Ins: Linberg, Gauthier, Leivo.

How do you like those lines? The only issue I can see is the lack of size on the right side. Alternate Linberg on the lines maybe.

To get that 4th pick, my thoughts are EDM would want Dermott or Nielsen included.

To TOR: 2016 1st round pick

To EDM: 2016 1st (PITT) + D - J. Gardiner + D - T. Dermott

Not a bad pick, but why not trade up in this range for one of the top D like Chychrun?
