My question to the group. Are bonuses allowed still as the Leafs have done in the past.

Hyman, if the Leafs want to offer 6 years times $4.25 Million with salary per annum at $750,000.
50% of the total bonus monies- $21 Million is
$10.5 Million divided into two years. The remaining bonus is divided into three years.
Salary & Bonus-
Year 1- $ 6 mm (5.25 Million +750 K)
Year 2- $6 MM
Year 3- $4.25 MM ($3.5 Million +750 K)
Year 4- $4.25 MM
Year 5- $4.25 MM
Year 6- $.750 MM

Hamilton, the FA, Leafs want to offer 8 years at
$7 Million with a similar salary per annum structure and bonus plan.
Year 1- $13. MM ($12.25 +.75 salary)
Year 2- $13 MM ($12.25 +.75 salary)
Year 3- $ 5.65 MM ($4.9 mm + $.75)
Year 4- $ 5.65 MM
Year 5- $ 5.65 MM
Year 6. $5.65 MM
Year 7- $5.65 MM
Year 8 -$.750 MM

Leafs trade Kerfoot and Holl. Keep Dermott and extend.

Leafs sign Bozak a step above minimum. Leafs sign a backup goalie at $1.5 Million. The bottom 6 forwards total salary will $5.5 Million. Leafs top 13 players total $52 MM

Leafs bring back Gallyenchuk and Bogosian at $1 MM each.

Leafs -top 7 defenseman total $25 MillIon. Goaltenders total $3.2 Mm
Kessel -$1.2 MM
22 Players - $81.4 Million for 2021/2022

They want backloaded bonus right now because of c.v. not front loaded.

Hyman may take that if you go to 8 years but no one wants to do that for a 29 year old with a history of injuries. Especially because backloaded means you can't buy him out.

You can offer any amount of signing bonus to non ELC player.

However, signing bonus plus salary over the whole contract divided by years of contract is how the AVV and cap is calculated

UFA and RFA players don't get performance bonuses but if they did much like ELC performance bonuses end up counting the year after the performance is net this hurting your teams cap number the next year.
