Out Mikheyev Nylander

Leafs trade Nylander

Ducks Jamie Drysdale. Anthony Stolarz

That type of trade is perfect for leafs they get 950k player through next season back. That gives Leafs 6million in cap flexibility

I'm looking young inexpensive great upside talent for Nylander

Leafs can use a right hand shot defencemen former 6 th overall pick and a goalie 9.17 goals against over 28 games with ducks last year

Talent plus cap space is great trade for Nylander

That’s a ridiculous idea, who replaces the 34++ G’s from Nylander? Are you insane?

Go Leafs Go!

@rideshog.
The problem for most with Nylander is not what you get from him (34 goals), it is what you don't get. There is no way to statistically asses what his lack of willingness to compete causes the Leafs. How many goals against happen because he makes a lazy line change or won't block a shot or move a puck out if he thinks he will get hit. How many goals aren't scored because he won't battle in the corner, rarely drive the net even when the lane is there etc. How disheartening is it on his team mates to watch him pull up when they just got crunched their last shift to make a play.

It is easy to see the 34 goals. He had 3 in the playoffs and two came late in a game when the game was out of hand and the other was on the PP. He played a lot of third line minutes and couldn't dominate seeing lower D pairs. He had only 2 assists at 5 on 5 even though he started over 65% in the O zone. He had only 3 blocked shots and 4 hits with only 2 takeaways all series. Tavares took a lot of flack even though he competed. He ended up with 2 5 on 5 goals, 65% on the dot, 15 hits and 8 blocks. Only 1 less point than the more talented Nylander while playing against tougher competition.

Replacing the 34 goals is tough, but replacing him with a 20-25 goal scorer making half the money who competes, may put the team farther ahead when you consider what else they add with the other $3.5M now available.
