*SJ retains 50% of Meier's expiring contract.

I still believe Meier is Toronto's target, adding Bonino for Kerfoot helps for the cap situation.

It's a lot to give SJ but they will be looking to the future with Meier being a great trade chip to get the rebuild going.

I don’t think there is a substitute for Knies that San Jose would want.
Robertson doesn’t cut it.
Knies would be their future LW to replace Timo Meier.

Darren67 Leafs have no one else. Knies and Draft Picks that's what they have that are worth anything . everyone else are just fillers. Unless of course your talking the core 4
Keep in mind they have 8 ufa and 4 rfa upcoming not very appealing to most teams so you eliminate 12 players almost instantly from most trades for most teams.
