Pietrangelo is getting way to old to give up assets for.
Theodore is way to injured and plays too few games each year to be suitable for the Leafs as he will need an expensive new contract next summer and will want lots of term.
I would think there would be far better returns available should Marner decide to wave his NTC for specific teams.

Brett Pesce, Matt Roy, Dylan DeMelo, Sean Walker, Brandon Montour are all available on the free agent market without trading for a player who will be 35 in January or a LHD defenseman that has managed to play 102 games out of 164 over the past two seasons.

Theodore scored 83 points in those 102 games putting him miles ahead of any Leaf defender other than Rielly.
I'd take my chances on Theodore in a heartbeat!
