Why not just give them Reilly and Robertson and a 3rd pick and swallow the whole cap hit? You make no sense. If the rumour is true and the Leafs are finalizing a sign and trade for Raddysh, you need to get rid of Reilly. Especially if the AAV is $8m plus for Raddysh.

Which I’m not understanding cause that is what he will go for in the open market so why give compensation to a division rival unless they r taking a player u are trying to get rid of and they want.

I’m making perfect sense. U need to read b4 talking. I explained it pretty clear. First and foremost Nucks not swallowing 20-30% of EP salary for 2nd rd picks. Secondly, it would be more beneficial for Leafs to offer Reilly and Robertson or a prospect and a pick and swallow the whole salary now that they’ve signed Rad.

Look at the Karlsson trade; it will explain a lot to u. They got 3 roster players plus a 1st rd pick to retain $1.5m and had to include the Habs to make it work.
