OEL is not a top pairing Dman. He's older, and the UFA market means he may still get a decent return. They need someone else and that's where things get pricey...

With Andrae coming in and hypothetically being able to do what OEL does, that makes OEL expendable for the right price.

That 2nd pairing should be decent if they're healthy.

If they can get Coghlan on the 3rd pair to go with Andrae I could live with that...

Reilly will be gone but I believe they will hold onto Carlo to start the season. To me Tanev is looking more and more like a Jake Muzzin situation: concussions, injuries piling up at an old age. He’s a concussion or injury away from hanging them up, which the style of game he plays can happen this season.

Carlo is the insurance if it does happen and also to bring his stock back up if he has a bounce back season if u do decide to trade him in the season.

Andrae doesn’t do what OEL does frens. The guy gave u 20.30m per game and played in all situations. If that’s not a top pair d man I don’t know what is.

I’d rather target Stanley or Ferraro over Lauzon. Even Blankenburg better than Lauzon. Any of those 3 over Lauzon for third pairing.

@Marner 4life, I seem to agree with your posts and comments more than anyone else here. I like that group you brought in but OEL takes Andraes spot, he starts the year as #7 until he proves otherwise. Nice post.

So u think Lauzon better than Stanley or Ferraro, Clarky? Really? Way more upside than Lauzon and younger to boot.
