Tor: OEL, Villeneuve
Utah: Lamoureux, 2027 3rd (Tor)
With Rielly likely staying, OEL becomes a great trade chip, add Villeneuve to get his chance elsewhere. Lamoureux is a major locker room guy. Huge, and a good skater and has great vision on the ice.

Where did you get the info that Lamoureaux is a major locker room guy that his vast 20 NHL games is worth giving up OEL?

Everyone seems to forget that OEL has been our best D since acquiring him and he was Florida's that year when they had a couple key injuries. But Hrenklin likes trading our better players and role players for long shots.

@suffering, Scouting reports him as a strong physical presence and an upbeat personality with confidence. He was also responsible for organising team bonding movie nights with the world Junior team.

No offense but I will take a guy with over 1100 NHL games still playing effectively and ever avoids the press and points the finger many times at himself for not playing better when he actually played well. He is more of a leader than our Captain is. I’m not giving up a quality player with his character for a unproven guy.

And I'm looking at a long term Canadian RHD who would be beneficial for more than the 2 years on OEL's contract.

We already have one named Ben Danford who already is better than Lamoureux. And... we don't have to give up one of our best defenseman to get him.

No, Danford is not better than him. But the difference is Maverick will play real NHL games this season.

The difference is OEL is worth way more that Lamoureaux ever will be and I stand by Danford being a better player. He stepped in and was a huge piece of the Marlies willing the Calder. If Lamoureaux is that good in your mind, he will play real NHL games this season, then let him play them in Utah.
Who, by the way, is he going to displace there in their deptrh group that they lose their job to him?

Hrenklin, where did u see these scouting reports? Mad magazine? 2seasons has played 20 total NHL games for Utah. Is 22yrs old. Such great scouting reports that Utah went and signed Peeke to a $1m contract cause that’s how much confidence they have in Lamoureux. ????

Just do a quick Google search of "Maverick Lamoureux locker room presence" it'll give you an understanding of who he is as a person.
Ideally I'd want him and Danford to both be on the Leafs behind Raddysh.
As strong as OEL has been for us, we needs to get younger. Lameroux is only 22, so there's quite alot of room for him to grow, but unlike Danford he's NHL ready now.

Are u kidding right now or just ??? NHL ready? He’s Wright 2.0! Look at where Knies is at 23yrs old. That’s NHL ready and taking it by the balls. This guy was a first rd pick and hasn’t been able to do squat on a team that’s been rotating 3rd pairing RD to the point where Desimone, Simashev and Schmidt were all chosen to play there over him.
See what kind of person he is in the locker room. Give me a break. AI generated. Look up Danford and his locker room presence. Gruden couldn’t say enough great things about the kid.

I agree Champ. Lamoureaux, if he makes that team, will be a 7th D. He also has to outshine Zac Jones who has has played some games in the NHL and put up huge points in Rochester last year. Buffalo had to many offensive d-men for him to get a look. He is still only 25! amd Lavoie is coming from Junior and some sources say he is going to leapfrog Lamoureaux on the depth chart in his first pro year.
OEL is a better locker room guy too. He doesn’t organize movie nights. He just tells the guys to get undressed and then tells the P. R guys… tell the media I will be available for long question periods. He is a classy guy.
