With a possible offer sheet incoming we need to shed around 2M, if we don't before the sheet comes or before mitch signs here we will lose value on the pieces we need to move to fit him in if it is a matchable offer.

Leafs, Nylander, borgman

Canes, Pesce, forward prospect of some sort

I think we can all agree that if Nylander gets back to form we technically lose the trade but if we lose the trade why not have lower cost certainty on a right shot D.

We gain almost 3M in space and have a really tight D group

Johnson - Matthews - kapanen
Hyman - Tavares - Marner
Moore - kerfoot - mikheyev
Agostino/petan -spezza- Bracco

Rielly - Pesce
Muzzin - Barrie
Dermott - Ceci

Both 1 and 2 pairs have a great offensive and defensive player

My thoughts are that if Marner wants $11M+ on a deal, let him walk and take the 4 1st round picks. I don't feel that Marner is a $4M better player than Nylander

As much as I would be saddened to see Marner go, those 4 1st round picks can come in handy to add talent now or at the trade deadline.

Dubas isn’t going to give into marner he’s not worth what he wants in value with that being said Nylander will not be traded he now is on a decent deal and with the possibility that marner may not be back it may not be a smart choice I’d rather not over pay marner we can do a lot with 4 1st and 9 mil in cap space.

NYI are the team who are dumb enough to give up 4 X 1's Rd picks. If they offer 12.5M (as rumors has it), the leafs will let him go. They should then sign Gardner and one of Johansson or Ferland.

NYI has less cap space than the Leafs, and they stilm have to sign Beauvillier. I get that Lou's a Sith Lord, but they're in a worse spot capwise than the Leafs. I don't see it coming from NYI.

That’s why a trade with Dubas and Lou will work better . like Sakic did, both sides win and nobody feels slighted

Cizikas plays lw with Tavares a Long Island reunion
Pulock pairs with captain Morgan
Greiss is a solid backup for Freddy maybe idiot Babcock will have Freddy play only 55 games
Bellows gets top line minutes with the Marlies
Wilde gets top pairing minutes with Sandin with the Marlies and both make the team in 2020-21 as we won’t resign muzzin and ceci. We will extend Barrie and Pulock after this year

Lou gets what he wants Mitch’s daddy gets his $ and the leafs get some nice adds to the big club and a pair of A list prospects.
